Royston and District Writers' Circle and Royston Arts Festival present

THE SECOND STORY ON A POSTCARD COMPETITON

Following on from last year’s highly entertaining competition, here is your chance to try again with the Royston Writers' Circle's SECOND very short story competition held in conjunction with the Royston Arts Festival on the 25th September, 2010

This competition, which was run as part of the Arts Festival, has now closed.

THE TASK

There are TWO rules this year! FIRST your story must have a beginning, middle and an end BUT fit on one side of a postcard. SECOND the title of your story is the same as the festival theme “WHO R U” interpreted anyway you wish.

WHO

Entry is open to anyone and everyone, all ages, and you can enter as many stories as you wish.  The entries will be divided into 3 age groups:  up to 11 years, 12-18 years and 18 years and above.

WHEN and WHERE

Entries can be written beforehand or you can come along to Royston Town Library, Market Hill, SG8 9JN on 25th September between 10am and 4pm where members of the Circle will be on hand to provide you with postcards and pens.  All entries will be displayed in the library until the 2nd October. Local best selling author Sarah Harrison will be leading the judging panel.

REWARDS

Prizes of £25 for the best story in each category will be made courtesy of the Royston Arts Festival Committee and the winning story and runner up in each category will be displayed in Royston library and appear on several websites.

A poster, to advertise the event, is available.
